Catholic Men Association
The Catholic Men Association (CMA) is a lay non-profit making and non-political organisation of baptized and devout male Christians of the Roman Catholic Church. CMA is, therefore, one of the organs of St John the Baptist Parish. St. Joseph is the patron saint of the CMA and a model of family life.
The following qualify to be members of the movement:
All Catholic Men above 18 years and not simultaneously members of the youth group.
All married Men.
Members of the clergy by the virtue of their ministry. These are accorded the status of associate members.
In each of the more than 60 small Christian communities under St John the Baptist Parish there is a Catholic Men Association led by a committee that is elected every three years according to the elections calendar of the Church in Malawi.
The CMA in the small Christian communities meet at a frequency that each community agrees on.
Catholic Women Association
The Catholic Women Association (CWA) is a lay movement with the mandate to empower Catholic women spiritually, morally, socially and economically for the purposes of evangelizing families and society at large. The Catholic Women Association of St John the Baptist Parish falls under the Mtimaoyera Deanery in the Archdiocese of Lilongwe.
The main goal of the Association is to enhance the spiritual growth of Catholic women and enable them to participate effectively in the evangelization and sanctification of humanity. The movement brings women closer to God and unites them as they participate in the general development of their church and community.

The CWA in the small Christian communities meet every week on a day that each community decides.
Catholic Youth Group
Catholic Choir Groups
Our Youth Group plays a vital role in the community by serving the parish and its members. Comprising enthusiastic and dedicated young individuals, the group engages in various activities aimed at fostering spiritual growth and community service. They organize events such as youth retreats, prayer meetings, and charitable initiatives that not only strengthen their faith but also contribute positively to the surrounding environment. By collaborating with other parish groups, the youth group creates opportunities for fellowship and mutual support, encouraging members to take active roles in their church and community. Their commitment to service and spirituality helps inspire others, making a lasting impact on the parish and beyond.
At our parish, we are blessed with a vibrant array of choir groups that come together to serve God through the gift of music. Each choir brings its unique flavour, ranging from traditional hymns to contemporary worship songs, creating a rich tapestry of sound that uplifts the spirit. Our members, drawn from all ages and backgrounds, share a common purpose: to glorify God and enhance the worship experience for our community. Through rehearsals and performances, we not only develop our musical skills but also foster deep connections with each other and strengthen our faith. The harmony we create resonates beyond the walls of our church, inspiring and inviting others to join us on this joyful journey of faith through song. Together, we strive to make every note a reflection of our devotion and love for God.
